A new power feed is required after 32’ due to voltage loss for most of our ribbon, please refer to the ribbon spec sheet for more information. Also keep in mind that our high wattage LED tapes would exceed class 2 if you go the full length of 32′ so you would need to wire in accordance with NEC code or shorten the length for those ribbons.
We recommend looking at our installation sheets on our website, most channels are joined by just butting them together, we would recommend having the lens overlap the joint mark to help make it look seamless. A few of our channels do have special fittings to join them.
The channel needs to be mitred on site to 45 degrees on both pieces to create a 90 degree corner. No connectors are needed some channels do have special fittings for this purpose to check go to the channel page and click installation instructions.
The distance is based on voltage loss, so the further away you are the larger the wire gauge will need to be. Your electrician should be able to do a voltage loss calculation for you. Or if you call us with all the information we are happy to help.
No, unfortunately it’s based on voltage loss not wattage loss. Upsizing the driver does not change the distance from the driver to the start of the ribbon.
Our magnetic series are max load rated, all of our other versions are recommended to stay around 80% full load for commercial projects and 90% full load for residential products.
SC10W1 is for power feed(comes with lead cable).
SC10W02 is for direct Ribbon go Ribbon and if you need a 90 degree connector you need to use one of each.
Yes, we actually ship mini screwdrivers with every order so you don’t need to hunt for one.
Class 2 is an electrical code and relates to any circuits (including circuits that are not lighting) that are 50 volts or less. The code says if 50v or less it needs to be max 5 amps and or 100 watts, whatever comes first. If you want to use larger drivers you would need to wire in accordance to NEC code.
Absolutely, we are happy to help. All pricing would have to go through our standard channels but we can definitely assist you with any questions or building a BOM.
